Terms of use

1. The service

TETHERÆ provides encrypted remote access between devices you control. It is currently version 0.1 and in beta, provided free of charge.

2. Beta software

Beta means what it says: features may change, and the service may be interrupted. Do not rely on TETHERÆ as the only way to reach a machine you must be able to reach.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the security of your account and of the devices paired to it. Because pairing requires physical presence at a machine, a device that has been paired is one somebody was standing in front of, so keep your devices locked. You can revoke any device from either end at any time.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use TETHERÆ to:

• access a computer you are not authorised to access;
• deceive somebody into granting you access to their machine;
• break the law of any jurisdiction that applies to you;
• attack, overload or attempt to compromise the relay infrastructure.

Because sessions are encrypted end to end, we cannot police their contents. What we can do, and will, is suspend accounts on credible reports of the conduct above.

5. What we provide, and what we do not

During the beta the service is provided as is, without warranty. We do not guarantee availability, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

6. Price

TETHERÆ is free during the beta. If a paid plan is introduced, its price will be published in advance and will not be applied retroactively to beta use.

7. Ending it

You can delete your account from Settings in the app at any time, which unpairs its devices. We may suspend an account that breaches section 4.

8. Changes

Material changes to these terms will be announced here before they take effect.
