Terms of use

Last updated 30 August 2026

This policy describes how our software actually behaves, written from the source code rather than from a template. It is not a substitute for legal advice, and it should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer in each market before you rely on it.

Who we are

Tetherae operates these websites and the software described on them, including Tetherae. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Tetherae.

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use our software. You may not resell it, rent it, or redistribute modified copies. The software remains ours.

Use it only on machines you are entitled to control

Tetherae gives real control of a real computer. You may use it only on machines you own, or on machines whose owner has authorised you. Using it to reach a computer without that authority is prohibited, and depending on where you are it is also a criminal offence.

Beta software

Tetherae is in beta and free to use. It may change, break, or be interrupted. Do not rely on it as the only means of access to a machine that matters, and keep another way in.

Acceptable use

No warranty, and limits

The software is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profit, or loss of access to a machine. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the software changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the software after a change means you accept it.
