Privacy

The short version

We cannot see what you do on your own computers. Tetherae encrypts every session between your two devices, and our relay forwards data it has no key to read. We hold no copy of your screen, your keystrokes, your files or your clipboard.

What the software sends

• Session data travels encrypted end to end between your devices. Our relay carries it without being able to decrypt it.
• Device identity keys. Each machine generates its own key pair. Public keys are exchanged when you pair. Private keys never leave the device they were made on.
• Volume of data relayed. We count how many bytes pass through the relay so we can show you your own usage and size our infrastructure. We count the quantity, never the content.

What we store

• If you create an account: an account name and a password hash. Nothing else.
• If you email us: your message and your address, kept so we can reply.
• On your own device: your paired machines, their keys, and your usage figure are stored locally on your device. That data is not uploaded.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no sale or sharing of personal data.
• No third-party analytics or tracking scripts in our applications.
• No recording, inspection or retention of session content. The design makes this impossible for us, not merely against policy.

Website

Our sites are static pages served through Cloudflare, which processes request logs including IP addresses as our infrastructure provider in order to serve and protect the sites. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Because we deliberately hold very little, most requests are quick to satisfy. Write to hello@tetherae.com.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note what changed.
